ABOUT THE BAND

Since 2011, Cold Hard Cash has been entertaining audiences with their energetic and soul-capturing Johnny Cash experience. They have worked hard to hone the details of the show, taking the audience for a time-travelling experience. Different eras are brought to life with the band’s sharp formal dress and authentic vintage instruments changing alongside the many distinct styles of Cash’s music. The attention to detail also comes out in the sensitive ear put toward capturing the unique sound. Seeking a complete entertainment experience, Cold Hard Cash focuses on drawing the audience in with witty humour and dynamic stage presence. It is a show that appeals to the young and old alike. From people foot stomping in their seats to tearing up the dance floor, Cold Hard Cash prides itself on the diversity of its music and fans.

Cold Hard Cash is currently filling theatres, playing large music festivals, and performing across Canada. The band has shared the stage with renowned acts such as The Statler Brothers, Loverboy, and Prism at venues such as the Morden Corn and Apple Festival, Winkler Harvest Festival and Red River Exhibition in Winnipeg. Their acclaimed self-titled album released under twelve-time Juno nominated producer Dan Donahue is a favorite to many. Cold Hard Cash continues to astonish audiences with their polished and progressive show by establishing their unique approach to the complete tribute band experience.

  • Jeremy Olfert

From growing up listening to Johnny Cash on old LP’s with his dad to now being the Man in Black on stage, Jeremy is inspired to bring our audiences the most authentic J.R. Cash. Having toured the country playing music, you will now find Jeremy serving as an ordained Baptist minister, just like Johnny Cash! As a result, Jeremy brings a soulful conviction to the lyrics of Johnny’s songs like no other tribute band. Another one of Jeremy’s passions is vintage guitars which led him to start building tributes to the great guitars of the 1950’s. Known as “Steadfast Guitars," his builds are being used by touring musicians including our very own Clinton Giesbrecht. Be sure to ask Jeremy about our authentic gear at our next show!

  • Joel Kulik

By day, Joel is a high school chemistry teacher. By night, Joel trades in his white lab coat for a white tuxedo jacket and is the rhythmic foundation for Cold Hard Cash. From heavy metal to folk, he has played a wide variety of genres in Manitoba's music scene for years. As the only original member of the band, you can look forward to seeing Joel belting out "Ring of Fire" on his trumpet to riding the "Orange Blossom Special" on his harmonica. Nicknamed the "energizer bunny," Joel's enthusiastic approach to the entertainment experience continues to wow crowds – bringing guaranteed foot-stomping fun to any event.

  • Adam Mclean

As a personal trainer, Cold Hard Cash is lucky to have Adam as not only a sharply skilled bass player, but also the band's built-in roadie for some impressive heavy lifting. Along with witty one-liners, Adam showcases a steady foundation for Johnny Cash's rockabilly sound. With musical training in jazz, Adam has a marbled influence of various musical styles. Audiences can't help but two-step along to Adam's rock-solid musicianship.

  • Clinton Giesbrecht

If you have seen a live concert in Manitoba, then you have likely seen this long-legged guitar pickin' man! As a highly regarded guitarist in Winnipeg, Clinton has been acclaimed as a versatile musician with a delicate ear for country music. From playing his first song "Wildwood Flower" on his grandpa's old 1940's Gretsch guitar, Clinton is now in high demand as a session guitarist in Winnipeg. You will often hear the post-concert buzz of people talking about Clinton's tastefully authentic guitar talent after a Cold Hard Cash show experience.
